Hundreds of National Park Sites. Billions of Reasons to Protect Them.

Billions Nine out of 10 Republican, Democratic, and Independent voters believe that at just 1/15th of 1 percent of the federal budget, national park funding should not be cut any further. Our national parks generate $30 billion from tourism and recreation alone—a fantastic return on our small investment. Cutting our parks costs American jobs. When is the last time 9 out of 10 Republicans, Democrats, and Independents agreed on anything? Ask Congress to protect funding for our national parks.

Send a Message to Our President and Congress!

Dear President Obama and Congress:

As someone who loves America’s national parks, I write to you with deep concern about the funding threats facing our national treasures. Park budgets have been eroding continuously over the past few years and face the possibility of continued cuts in the near future. Please ensure national parks are not left on the cutting room floor

Dear [Decision Maker],

As someone who loves America's national parks, I write to you with deep concern about the funding threats facing our national treasures. Park budgets have been eroding continuously over the past few years and face the possibility of continued cuts in the near future. Congress should not allow our national parks to be the victims of a failed budget process, especially when parks are so important to millions of Americans like me and do so much to benefit many local economies.

Our national parks attract nearly 280 million visitors each year. The parks support 258,000 jobs and more than $31 billion in private-sector spending. They generate $10 in economic activity for every federal dollar spent. And they do it all with funding that is only 1/14th of 1 percent of the federal budget. In addition to providing memorable vacations and great learning experiences, our national parks are job producers and economy builders and should be treated accordingly in federal budget deliberations.

National parks are important to me, my family, and to thousands of families across the country. Please make sure our parks have the funding they need to continue to share the American story with today's families and with generations to come.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
