The Trump administration is proposing a 13% cut to the National Park Service’s budget, which would bring the agency’s funding to its lowest levels since World War II.For years, the Park Service has struggled with underfunding even as visitation has increased. Over the last five years, the Park Service has lost 11% of its staff, while the backlog of repair needs at parks has grown to more than $11 billion. But Congress has the power to reject this proposal and instead fund our national parks the way they deserve and need.
