The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has drafted a plan that will guide how it manages public land surrounding Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks for the next 20 years.Unfortunately, the plan currently allows for extensive oil and gas development with little regard for impacts to the parks. A boundless, industrialized landscape around both parks likely means dirtier air, groundwater contamination, an increase in noise and light pollution, and scenic views marred by more roads, and oil and gas wells.
Tell the BLM to work closely with the National Park Service and strengthen its plan to better protect these parks from oil and gas.Remember to personalize your letter below by sharing why protecting Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains from oil and gas development is important to you.
